Where did the name Monty Python come from?

1. THE NAME " MONTY PYTHON " DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING. The name of the highly influential comedy troupe made up of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin was made up by the group when they were commissioned to make their BBC comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus.
